Acoustic singer / folk songwriter Neil Cousin travelled up from his home in The Fens to record a session for Roots & Fusion.

He also had a gig at The Acoustic Lounge in Poynton, where he tamed a rowdy but friendly crowd.

Robert Chaney in session for Roots & Fusion

16 November 2016 by Pure Radio

Robert Chaney was recommended to me a couple of years ago by Del Day of ARK Promotions and I’ve been playing his music on the show ever since.

I was very pleased when promoter and friend of the show Sebastian Reynolds managed to arrange a recording session with Robert the morning after his stunning performance at Gulliver’s in Manchester.

Robert recorded 6 songs with occasional vocal harmonies supplied by his wife and musical partner Laura Tenschert and then we had a chat…

Session recorded by Roots & Fusion’s own sound engineer, Aaron Hixon.

1) Swing Low
2) The Cyclist
3) Does Your Love Pay Out In Full
4) Patch It Up
5) Stand, Stumble & Fall
6) Corazones Amarillos

Anne Sumner in session for Roots & Fusion

2 November 2016 by Pure Radio

Every now & then, a regular listener & friend of the show will say to me, “Have you heard…?”

Such was the case when listener Mark Flanagan advised me to listen to the music of Anne Sumner.

Anne’s incredible voice and gorgeous songwriting grabbed me straight away.

Based in Croyden, Anne came up to the Roots & Fusion studio especially to record a session – and I’m so pleased she did.

She recorded 5 songs and then we had a bit of a chat – all recorded by Roots & Fusion’s sound engineer, Aaron Hixon.

1) Anywhere With You
2) Swim Any Sea
3) Renegades
4) These Hours
5) Water’s Edge
