He also reports on a great evening in prospect at nearby Hawk Green this monday when the club’s 1st XI will be taking on an England legends team captained by Michael Vaughan.
With England Women’s cricket team beginning their Ashes Test against Australia on Sunday, Andy Searle speaks to Stockport’s leading woman cricketer, Jenny Halstead, who, as well as captaining the Cheshire women’s team, created history last weekend by becoming the first woman cricketer to score a half century in men’s 1st XI cricket.
She did this for Hazel Grove in their game with Dove Holes in the Peak Sports Derbyshire and Cheshire League.
Bramhall and Stockport cricket clubs strengthened their positions in their respective divisions of the Vivio Cheshire County League last Saturday and Andy Searle chats to Nick Cantello and Matt Begbie from Bramhall and Mark Green from Stockport. He also looks forward to a big week for Lancashire and Cheshire and Cheadle cricket club’s 150th anniversary celebrations.
