Pride in Practice

Pride in Practice is a quality assurance and support service for primary care services.

They go into GP practices, dentists, pharmacies and opticians – and provide training and advice about best practice when dealing with lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans patients.

Under the Rainbow has been speaking to Laurence Webb from the LGBT Foundation, who are delivering the project.

Sugar and Spice 2017

This weekend it’s the lesbian and bisexual women’s festival – Sugar and Spice.

Hosted every year by the LGBT Foundation.

The programme includes a panel discussion, laughter workshop, advice on starting a business, an introduction to podcasting, tarot readings, and film showings.

Hollyoaks Actress Annie Wallace

Sally St Claire has been the headteacher in Channel 4’s Hollyoaks since 2015.

She is played by Scottish actress Annie Wallace. Annie visited Stockport last month to talk about what it is like to be a transgender person playing a transgender character on television.

Under the Rainbow spoke to Annie, and she explained her views on equality today.
