December the first will be World AIDS Day, and this week is HIV Testing Week.
There are more than 100,000 people living with HIV nationally, including an estimated 26,000 undiagnosed.
Under the Rainbow has been speaking to Stacey Adams, the Sexual Health Manager at the Lesbian and Gay Foundation. She said that despite new methods of prevention and treatment, HIV continues to be a problem today.
At the end of next week, the Lesbian and Gay Foundation will start a programme of workshops aimed at gay and bisexual men.
They will include online dating, relationships, going abroad on holiday, and diet and exercise.

The Department of Health have announced that HIV self-testing kits will be available from next year.
This will mean for the first time in the UK, the entire HIV test can be done at home.
