Village Manchester Football Club - 20th Anniversary Tournament

VMFC is a gay, bisexual and inclusive men’s team.

They have been playing in a number of local and LGBT leagues since 1996.

To celebrate the group’s anniversary, they are hosting an international LGBT football tournament in August.

National AIDS Trust - Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis

Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis, or Prep for short, is a drug that, if taken daily, can reduce the risk of acquiring HIV.

A number of studies around the world, have shown that it’s very effective at preventing the transmission of the virus.

The Senior Policy and Campaigns Manager at the National AIDS Trust, Sarah Radcliffe, has been telling Under the Rainbow about the latest developments.

Volunteering At The LGBT Foundation

The LGBT Foundation provide many services aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of LGBT people.

Under the Rainbow has heard that they’re looking for more volunteers to assist with running those services.

Oct 2015 - LGBT Foundation's Village Angels

The Village Angels are a band of volunteers that patrol around Canal Street, and the rest of Manchester’s Gay Village. They work to provide help and information to night-time revellers.

They are organised by the LGBT Foundation. And can be spotted in pink hi-visibility vests on Friday and Saturday nights.

Under the Rainbow heard from Jessica White, who is the Community Safety Coordinator at the LGBT Foundation.

Oct 2015 - Twilight People: Stories of Faith and Gender

Twilight People is a project that aims to document transgender and non-gender-conforming people, and the faith and spirituality that they have in their lives.

They plan to collect people’s stories, then use them to produce an exhibition next year.
