Lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people still face homophobia and transphobia in their lives, on an all too regular basis.
It Does Get Better is a single from The L Project, which aims to improve awareness of bullying, give hope to those suffering, and raise money to help combat it.
Sofia, who worked on the single, spoke to Under the Rainbow. She described how it all began.
The It Gets Better project was set up to provide positive words of support for young people being bullied or persecuted for being lesbian, gay, bisexual or trans. Hundreds of submissions have been received from around the world. Over the past few weeks, Under the Rainbow has heard a selection of those messages. In our final instalment, singer-songwriter Stew Simpson performs a song he created for the project. He also explains the reasons why he wrote it.
The It Gets Better Project began in response to a number of teenage suicides in the United States of America.
