On Tuesday 25 October the football world lost one of it’s all time greats.

Carlos Alberto led Brazil’s football team to victory in the 1970 World Cup in Mexico.

He was the last player to be presented with the Jules Rimet Trophy as the Brazilian team that included Pele and Jairzinho romped home winning all six matches in the competition and scoring 19 goals along the way.

To many they were the greatest team that ever played.

Carlos Alberto scored Brazil’s final goal that capped an impressive 4-1 demolition of the highly regarded Italian team in the Final.

His goal is widely regarded as one of the best team goals ever scored in a world cup.

Right back Carlos Alberto earned 53 caps and was included in FIFA’s official team of the 20th century.
