Carlos Alberto talks to Pure

26 October 2016 by Pure Radio

On Tuesday 25 October the football world lost one of it’s all time greats.

Carlos Alberto led Brazil’s football team to victory in the 1970 World Cup in Mexico.

He was the last player to be presented with the Jules Rimet Trophy as the Brazilian team that included Pele and Jairzinho romped home winning all six matches in the competition and scoring 19 goals along the way.

To many they were the greatest team that ever played.

Carlos Alberto scored Brazil’s final goal that capped an impressive 4-1 demolition of the highly regarded Italian team in the Final.

His goal is widely regarded as one of the best team goals ever scored in a world cup.

Right back Carlos Alberto earned 53 caps and was included in FIFA’s official team of the 20th century.

Four years ago Carlos Alberto spoke to Pure’s Paul Holloway…..

The Scarletz Return On Fuzzbox

7 April 2011 by Pure Radio

The best girl band of all time (in our humble opinion) – The Scarletz returned to Pure Towers once again.

Their rock steady fused ska pop has made them a firm favourite on Fuzzbox.

Last time the Southern Scarletz Claire & Bryony beat Brinner 3-2 playing Nevermind The Fuzzbox but can the Northern Lasses Katiya & Tahnee do any better?

The Scarletz On Fuzzbox

24 March 2011 by Pure Radio

Here is another chance to hear The Scarletz who were Paul & Brinner’s studio guests on Fuzzbox.

They are a sassy girl band with a wicked dose of ska in their tunes – they are doing to be huge!

The Scarletz include Tahnee Lee who went to Cheadle Hulme School.

The girls are playing a sting of dates at schools across the country including Cale Green Primary. Paul also tells how he once signed Atomic Kitten to play a school hall and Brinner shows off his tattoos (works great on the radio).
