Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (or PrEP for short) is a drug that has shown the potential to reduce the chances of catching HIV.

It’s currently undergoing clinical trials amongst those most at risk of contracting the virus.

The Lesbian and Gay Foundation are hoping the drug will reduce infection rates, and are encouraging the NHS to make it available to the public as soon as possible.

Under the Rainbow has been speaking to the LGF’s Sexual Health Coordinator – James Derham.

The Lesbian and Gay Foundation is a charity that runs a number of services for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans community. They include sexual health testing, and wellbeing counselling.

Tonight Under the Rainbow is finding out how you can help raise money for them by taking part in one of their Charity Challenges. Next month they’re looking for runners to join the Great Manchester Run and the London 10K.

Under the Rainbow spoke to their Volunteer Manager, Charlotte Cook and Community Engagement Officer James Derham.
