Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. It can affect a person in numerous ways – in particular their libido. And some may struggle to discuss it with their doctor or their partner, due to feeling embarrassed.

This Saturday, The Lesbian and Gay Foundation are running a conference for healthcare professionals and people who are affected by prostate cancer.

Under the Rainbow has been speaking to Kathy McGuirk from the organisation – who explained why they are doing such an event for lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people.

Nov 2014 - Safe to Sing

On Monday evening the Manchester Lesbian and Gay Chorus will be boarding the Metrolink trams in the city centre.

Safe To Sing is their latest project. It aims to show support and solidarity to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans community, as well as victims of hate crimes.

They’ll be going back and forth along the city centre tram routes, encouraging the public to sing along with them.

Kath Fox from the choir spoke to Under the Rainbow.

Some people get nervous at the thought of meeting their GP, and discussing their personal issues.

The Lesbian and Gay Foundation are conducting a survey of lesbian, gay and bisexual people’s experiences of their local doctor.
