Mar 2012 - Unitarian Church Civil Parnership Licence

Same-sex Civil Partnerships have been law since 2004, but its only very recently been possible to hold them in religious buildings.

Manchester’s Unitarian Church has become one of the first places in the country to have a licence to perform a Civil Partnership Ceremony.

Reverend Jane Barraclough told Under the Rainbow about it.

It aims to provide an inclusive and accepting vision of Christianity for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex people. He explained to Under the Rainbow that Christian churches should be a safe haven for the LGBTI community.
