Justin Johnson live at Barista Café Bar

Modern day troubadour and cigar box virtuoso, Justin Johnson recorded a session for Roots & Fusion at Barista Café Bar on the Underbank stairs in Stockport centre.

This was his first ever UK appearance, kicking off a tour including this year’s Boxstock festival in Leicester.

He played for about three quarters of an hour, including a 10 minute version of Miles Davis’ All Blues and a couple of made up on the spot tunes, one called Barista Bar Blues.

His next venture is a double album called Smoke & Mirrors in which he will play some century old instruments – for more information.

Wilko Johnson from Dr Feelgood & the Blockheads on Fuzzbox

Wilko Johnson, Dr. Feelgood guitarist spoke to Paul Holloway from Fuzzbox about the new film Oil City Confidential Listen Here.

It is the third full length feature punk rockumentary from director Julien Temple, who after covering the Sex Pistols and Joe Strummer, he has turned his attention to infamous pub rockers from Canvay Island.

The movie premier is at the Odeon cinema at the Printworks on Tuesday 2nd February, followed by a live broadcast of Wilko and his band playing a gig in London.
