The Leader of Stockport Council Alex Ganotis has been talking to Pure 107.8FM about the controversial Greater Manchester Spatial Framework proposal.
The Framework is joint initiative by the Greater Manchester Combined Authority to plan housing and infrastructure needs for the next 20 years.
Sites in Bredbury Park, Woodford, High Lane and Heald Green have been identified for possible developments.
Councillor Ganotis told Pure the consultation is an opportunity for the public to have input into the plans.
The deadline for public consultation on the draft version of the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework has been extended until next Monday, 16 January 2017.
