Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (or PrEP for short) is a drug that has shown the potential to reduce the chances of catching HIV.

It’s currently undergoing clinical trials amongst those most at risk of contracting the virus.

The Lesbian and Gay Foundation are hoping the drug will reduce infection rates, and are encouraging the NHS to make it available to the public as soon as possible.

Under the Rainbow has been speaking to the LGF’s Sexual Health Coordinator – James Derham.

May 2011 - LGF's Cervical Screening Campaign

Cervical Cancer is believed to be caused by the HPV virus. Before 2009, only women who had relationships with men were screened by the NHS. Since then, the Lesbian and Gay Foundation have been encouraging lesbian and bisexual women to get screened. The LGF now want to hear women’s opinions on their campaign. Tonight, Under the Rainbow hears from Rachel Bottomley from the LGF.
